We shot these up in Strawberry, Arizona and when we were there we were all eating pizza and someone rolled up in this cool car. We all noted that it was a pretty rad car and then kept eating. Well then the guy came up to us and said he heard we were up there doing shoots (it is a VERY small town so I guess word travels fast lol) and he said he brought his car over in case we wanted to use it for pics! Haha it was soo sweet! Everyone in that town was just so nice. Anyways he owns Old County Inn which is a pizza joint there and SO good.. so if you are ever in Strawberry you know where to go. The chances of any of you being there though are probably very small haha.

We are filming some fun content for Barefoot Blonde Hair today and working on some projects.

Hey Travelers,

Want to know one of my essentials for a rich, happy, FULL life? Vacations are essential. I firmly believe that. As a young, unmarried gal, I spent a good chunk of my income on travel— creating rich, beautiful, LASTING memories. And it was worth it. Now, as a married gal, my husband and I still make traveling a priority. Because money spent on experiences will always trump money spent on mindless junk. Even if you opt for a low-key “staycation,” invest in experiences. We all need time to take a break from life and to completely de-stress. Because stress (and the sun!) is the ultimate ager for your skin.

But what are the essentials of your vacation bag? Which items do you always have with you on a trip? What weapons do you have in your arsenal for when disaster strikes? Here are a few of mine:

It goes without saying, but bring as many travel-sized beauty products as you can— even if you brought a checked bag. Continue reading

We just got back from Bermuda and David and I went to the office to catch up on some work. It was a long journey home and I didn’t have enough activities packed for the kids so I ended up telling LOTS of make believe stories haha. We downloaded The Handmaid’s Tale to watch while the kids slept on the plane .. I love the show but it gives me the weirdest feelings and the whole time I keep thinking, this could never really happen? Right? RIGHT?! I hope not. I mean I know it wouldn’t… but when I am watching I get so freaked ha.

Okay I clearly loved this yellow swimsuit! I only posted about a bajillion photos! I love matching Marysia suits – they sent these to us and I was obsessed, I couldn’t wait to wear them. And I think we are going to do another tutorial for these pigtails – I did one quick on my insta stories but I want to film another because this is currently my favorite hairstyle.

I love how much you guys liked David’s 12 things! I don’t know why I don’t have him do that more often. I was trying to find my computer charger and couldn’t find it anywhere so he came to the rescue. But I noticed he didn’t mention how amazing that navy velvet blazer was… 😉

We just arrived in Bermuda – it is late and we just got the kids to bed! It was a long trip here – we woke up at 6am to head to the airport and we got to the hotel at 10:45pm ish Bermuda time! We are in this insane penthouse at the Hamilton Princess & Beach Club. I am going to do a little tour of it on insta stories in the morning. So excited to wake up and go to the beach with the family!!!! We came here last year for 2 nights just David and I – it was our first time away leaving both kids at home.

Amber asked me (David) to write today’s post. More precisely, Amber called me, I’m currently in California, and said, “I can’t find my computer charger, will you write today’s post for me?” and I obviously obliged. You know what they say, a couple that shares a computer charger, who’s always teetering on 5%, stays together.

So I’ll stay true to form and write another 12 things guest post.

1. We’ve been watching Vikings, which I’m sure Amber’s mentioned. It’s inspired her recently in her braids, and me in my facial hair. 2. I got a new smoker! First thing I did after setting it up was go to our deep freeze to pull out some salmon from my last Alaska trip, only to find out that it had somehow shut off, spoiling my entire freezer full of delicious salmon. I may have shed a tear. 3.

This was from a day when we drove up to Strawberry to shoot some looks. I am sad to be missing Rosie’s dance class and A’s gym class today but David is going to take them so I am excited for him to get to watch them. Rosie was killin me in her dance class and today she is in the CUTEST tutu!

Have a good weekend everyone and follow along on my insta stories to see our weekend in Utah! xo

This jumper is for sure my new airport/travel outfit because its soooo comfy. I love comfy jumpers because then I can be on the floor playing with the kids, snuggling on the couch with them, and then go out in public and look like I got ready. Win win. For the outfit posts this week I tried to use a lot of the same pieces different ways. This black, long sleeve, bodysuit is a must (also in yesterdays post) you’ll see me wear a lot. It can go under jumpsuits, as a layering pieces, under dresses, it just goes with everything and is a basic that you def need to have. This necklace and booties are also from yesterdays post! Black booties are so versatile for any outfit – casual or dressed up. And this necklace is just really fun so I have been wearing it with everything on accident.

The day we shot this it was a surprising cool week in Arizona! The mornings were super chilly that week and the weather warmed up to low 80’s during the day. I am learning that this is Arizona’s version of Fall. I know I grew up here but I honestly just forgot what all of the seasons were like. I have still been wearing my sweaters and hats because even if I have to turn my AC down to 60 to feel “crisp air” and justify wearing it – I will wear cozy sweaters!!! (okay our AC hasn’t actually been down that low. that is considered “freezing” in my book lol). I have my fav candles burning and I got a new cozy blanket from Anthro so now all we are missing are some fall leaves!

I went on Free People the other day and kinda went a little crazy.

I’ve heard that your olfactory system, which is just fancy for your “sense of smell,” is the part of your sensory system most closely tied to vivid emotions and memories. And that is completely true for me! Enter perfume: A bottled essence so strong, I have a million and one memories, emotions, even sicknesses tied to MY past perfumes. But also, internal reactions and memories attached to the scents of friends, coworkers, family members, and even ex-boyfriends (anyone else’s high school fling wear Aqua Di Gio?)

My first (remembered) experience with perfume was when I was nine years old. My older sister had adopted the famed ’90s fragrance “Tommy Girl,” by Tommy Hilfiger, as her signature scent— and since she was the coolest person I knew (and still is) I thought it should be mine as well. I did this by sneaking into her drawer after she’d left for the day and spritzing WAY TOO MUCH Tommy Girl all over the “perfume spots” I’d seen people use in real life and in movies (neck, wrists, behind hair, chest, etc.) Then I’d do a second pass, making sure I REALLY got that aroma attached.

I like making lists. So here is a list of some of my favorite and not so favorite memories from Paris.

I love same spot photos. While we are on each trip I love to take photos that I want to recreate again when the kids get older. So its been fun to come back to paris again and again and see how much Atticus grows each time. We took a couple of Rosie’s first photos in Paris and hopefully when she is older she will have lots of these fun memories to look at. Atticus was officially potty trained while on this trip. Took us long enough haha. But I have really just been wanting to go at his pace and not force it… so this time it really stuck! So proud of him. That street performer hanging on the pole was truly remarkable! It was sooo fun to watch .. Continue reading

Ciao, Bella!

Positano was an absolute dreamy dream. Italy is Paradise! If you’ve been there you understand the sentiment.

One of my most favorite things about Positano — I mean besides the cliffside dwellings, painted in colors of sunset. Besides the abundance of readily available margarita pizzas (I DIE over that fresh, bright white mozzarella)! And besides the orange umbrella-lined beaches, which attract flocks of the happiest, most beautiful tourists and locals —Is the fact that lemons are piled high, everywhere!

They sit in bright yellow mounds, in every corner market, and on every fruit cart that lines those narrow Positano roads. The citrusy fruits are everywhere, and they are the size of small melons! Lemons also make their appearance in every local shop in the form of lemon soaps, shampoos, hand creams, chocolates and candies, beverages, and my personal favorite, chilled lemon sorbet, which is served to you in a hollowed lemon rind.
